Episode Two: a hike into the back country leads Tanesha to a surprising discovery of self-love
Tanesha adjusted the straps on her day pack, headed out of the parking lot and up the trail. Her destination was Sky Pines Summit with views that had convinced her to leave the fast life near the beach and buy a tavern in the mountains.
Getting tied up in her own run-down tavern, though, by two goof-balls selling drugs wasn’t part of the plan and she needed to shake the worry that now engulfed her.
Climbing the steep grade was making her feel better already with a welcome exertion in her thighs, that warm burn after climbing step by step over dirt and rocks. Sunshine and the morning chill along her legs, up her hiking shorts and beneath her tank top were sensations that made her alive.
Aroma of pine and the earthy surroundings began working like a balm, bringing her attitude from despairing challenges to hope. After a series of switch backs, views between the pines of the lake and the town were like gazing on a rich tapestry.
